GoogleUpdate: Removing It From Vista
GoogleUpdate.exe is a small program that’s automatically installed with any Google product you download and use. GoogleUpdate comes bundled with Google Picasa, the Google desktop search and as of late, Google Chrome.
GoogleUpdate seems to be a hidden process, because it doesn’t always show up when you install a new Google application. GoogleUpdate.exe is a software component that acts as a meta-installer and an auto-updater for many downloadable Google applications, including the ones I mentioned above. In other words, it keeps all your Google programs up to date.
Above is a snapshot of the GoogleUpdate.exe running in the Task Manager. It automatically runs in the background, it connects to Google servers, it uses system resources all the time, as well as, downloads and installs the needed updates. It also reports some data usage to the Google servers, which includes version numbers, language, operating systems, etc. Because of all that, you may want to consider stopping the GoogleUpdate.exe from running on your computer. But let’s learn more about it first!
Why should you stop the GoogleUpdate.exe?
Well, basically because it downloads the updates even when you don’t need them and it also consumes part of your Internet bandwidth, without asking your permission. So, let’s see how you can remove GoogleUpdate.exe from your computer! GoogleUpdate.exe adds itself to the Windows scheduler, but it doesn’t add itself to the system startup. Therefore, you can’t really remove it using the “msconfig” command.
So, to remove the GoogleUpdate.exe from your Windows Vista computer, simply follow these directions:
1.) Go to Start, Control Panel.
2.) Click on Administrative Tools, then Task Scheduler.
3.) Next, click on Task Scheduler Library and locate GoogleUpdateTaskUser.exe.
4.) Right click on that and select Disable.

5.) That’s it. You’re done. GoogleUpdate.exe is now history!

Cell Phones and Smartphones
Are you sick and tired of lugging around an appointment book, a cell phone and a laptop just to stay connected with work and friends? Are you tired of forgetting important appointments and not being able to communicate on the fly? Then perhaps there is an answer to your communication and scheduling dilemma. You may need to look into purchasing a pocket PC Smartphone to help you manage your busy schedule.
The invention of the pocket PC Smartphone is nothing new.
So why use a Smartphone or a palm pocket pc? Well for starters, they are incredibly versatile. Most phones prior to 2008 were running on Windows Mobile 5, but with the debut of Windows Mobile 6, more applications have opened up for use and there is more processor speed behind these small cell phones. The iPAQ Pocket PC is a prime example of faster running speed, but lacks the communication power of the iPhone. The iPhone has definitely set the standard for cell phones!
What can you expect from a Smartphone? You can expect PC software such as Outlook, Word and even Excel as applications. This means that you can open and edit documents while on the go. That is a huge plus factor over earlier models of phones and PDAs. Most new Smartphones, like the iPhone, have added music players, text messaging, cameras and even voice recorders, as a way to entice new customers into making the jump from Apple to other manufacturers, such as Nokia and Motorola.
If you find yourself in the market for a pocket PC Smartphone, then you absolutely cannot go wrong with the iPhone; however, keep in mind the other major players in the industry. You may not pay as much as you would for the iPhone, but you still get the same capabilities. The iPhone still has a hefty price tag of $399 and new Smartphones and pocket PCs can be purchased for less with a new contract from a cellular provider.
It has been around for quite some time in the form of PalmOs and Blackberry. However, more companies are joining in on the race to create a versatile phone that can run all of the applications that are needed by the user. You can thank Apple’s iPhone for prodding more companies into creating Smartphones.

Advice For Internet Marketing Newbies
Internet Marketing newbies represent the largest number of people who burn out or otherwise fail to make it in internet based businesses. In this article, I have some tips which can help newcomers to not only make it, but to thrive in the world of web based business. If you are new to the field yourself, you’ll read a lot her which will remind you of yourself.
You aspire to make the kind of income which would come from a high paid full time job; for the most part without putting in very much time actually working – letting you enjoy your income and living the kind of lifestyle you want.
Your name is on a multitude of different email lists; there is no internet marketing guru who doesn’t have your email address on their list – and you get hundreds of emails each day form these self appointed gurus.
You’re online constantly, always trying to figure out how to make your online business successful. You learn new aspects of the business just about every day – you spend a lot of your time watching videos, listening to audio courses or reading e-books which promise to tell you how to get in on the latest and greatest way to make money online.
You buy far more materials – scripts, systems, software and so on than you could ever hope to actually use. You have hundreds of MRR, PLR and RR e-books, tons of software and scripts, all kinds of memberships all purporting to answer the question of how to make money on the internet; all languishing on your hard drive.
What all of this leads to is an overload of information. You find it difficult to take action on the basis of the things you already know or the resources you already possess. You might think that this article doesn’t really speak to you – after all, you do take action, right? I’d just like to ask – then why aren’t you wildly successful yet? And more importantly, why do as many 95% of internet marketers fail?
The answer is simple enough – it’s just not enough to set up a website, get an autoresponder up and running, write articles, bid on AdWords keywords, post ads on Craigslist or even iunvent your own product to sell. While all of these steps are important, the way to really succeed involves more than this – here’s what to do.
First of all, get off some of those lists! You shouldn’t worry about losing out on important information – you’ve already got more than enough to get yourself on the right path. Just use the information you already have and stop reading every new so-called “new innovation” in internet marketing. After all, the big players in the industry didn’t get where they are today by spending all of their time reading these e-books.
Second, try to maximize the return on your time investments every day. While listening to and reading these internet marketing materials is all well and good, it isn’t going to make you money. Building your website in and of itself doesn’t make you money either; while these are important things to do, don’t spend all of your time on them. By taking too much time with these activities, you are lowering your potential earnings.
Third, take action methodically – one step at a time. Any internet marketing venture requires more or less the same tactic. Find a niche which will make you profits, find good keywords, find or make a product, make a website and an opt-in form, bring in traffic and keep an eye on results. Next, establish a relationship with your subscribers via email. Don’t just give them a sales pitch – give them information which they can actually use and will enjoy.
Internet marketing gurus like to say that making money online isn’t that complicated – and they are right. The tips given here are easy enough to follow and will eventually produce higher revenues for you. And it’s definitely better than the hit-and-miss method used by most newbies; which more often than not has disastrous results. Making a success of internet marketing is dependent on not only doing the right things, but doing them in the right way.

E-mail Safety 101 Reminder
In addition to the obvious e-mail netiquette of using BCC when sending to multiple recipients, deleting all the “TO”s and “FROM” before you forward e-mail, and use discretion before choosing to forward every single email you get to others, please remember to be very careful before opening any e-mail even if it looks like it is from a legitimate company. Microsoft and other legitimate companies do not send you e-mail notices to download or ask you to click on a link from within an e-mail regarding upgrades/updates. Quality software and browsers contain their own “Update” button and/or set via options/preferences - always use that method for updating software and browsers.
Of note this week regarding e-mail scams and viruses:
1. DO NOT open or click links within any e-mail with the subject “CNN.com Daily Top 20″ or any other subject from CNN. Delete it immediately. This is a new and very high-volume scam. Opening the email will not infect your computer, but clicking on links in the body of the e-mail, you will be infected with an extremely malicious trojan.
2. DO NOT open an e-mail with the subject line “Internet Explorer 7″ which “looks like” it appears to have come from admin @ microsoft.com - it is NOT from Microsoft. Do not download anything or click any links in this email. You risk infecting your computer with a trojan that can turn your computer into part of a spam-sending botnet - or compromise your security or personal information, or both. Delete the email immediately.
If you do not have a strong anti-virus program that updates daily, get one!
